    1. Our Commitment

    African Community Centre Wales is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards.

    2. Conformance Status

    This website aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities.

    We have taken the following measures to ensure accessibility:

    • Semantic HTML structure with a logical heading hierarchy
    • Keyboard navigation support with visible focus indicators
    • Skip to main content link for screen reader users
    • Minimum 44px touch targets for interactive elements
    • Sufficient colour contrast ratios for text and interactive elements
    • Alternative text for all meaningful images
    • Responsive design that works across devices and screen sizes
    • ARIA labels on interactive elements where needed

    3. Known Limitations

    Despite our best efforts, some parts of the website may not be fully accessible:

    • Some PDF documents linked from the publications section may not be fully accessible. We are working to provide accessible alternatives.
    • Some third-party content, such as embedded maps or videos, may not meet all accessibility standards.
    • Older content uploaded through the content management system may have inconsistent heading structures.

    6. Technical Information

    This website is built using React with semantic HTML5 elements. We use Tailwind CSS for styling and Framer Motion for animations, with reduced motion preferences respected where possible.

    The website is tested across modern browsers including Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge. We aim to support assistive technologies such as screen readers (NVDA, VoiceOver, JAWS) and voice recognition software.
